Meditation, mindfulness training and retreats are consciousness work for personal development and transformation, but are no substitute for psychotherapy. They are supportive and helpful for many people, but can also have unwanted psychological side effects for some. Fundamental mental stability is required.
As a meditation teacher, I support and accompany practitioners to the best of my knowledge and ability. However, it is up to the participants acknowledge their personal mental state and to sense their resources and respects their limits. In case of mental illnesses/pre-existing conditions, I recommend a consultation with a medical or psychotherapist to clarify whether the path of meditation and mindfulness can be taken.
In all my classes, the principle applies that each participant takes full responsibility for him/herself/themselves and his/her/their actions and all physical and psychological states and releases me as a meditation and mindfulness teacher from all liability claims.
